Dredg - Movement III: Lyndon |
] |
I know I said I'd write more about the dredg show... but it would be very difficult for me to convey the experience in words. It was very cathartic.
I will say this though:
-Because Josh is a concert-going god, he was able secure me a spot so that I got to witness the entirety of Dredgs performance front row center. -I got the drumstick used by Gavin to beat his slide guitar during the breakdown of "Canyon Behind Her" (Exhibit A) -I stole a lot of AFI posters (Exhibit B)
( Exhibits A and B )

Dredg - Yatahaze |

I'M SEEING DREDG TONIGHT.
AND I'M REALLY REALLY EXCITED.
Seriously though, if you're not listening to Dredg yet, then there's something wrong with you.
Okay, carry on.

Lou Barlow - Legendary |
] |
I know you've given all that you could give to me I know there'll come a day I understand Until then i'll be trying to solve your mystery And wonder why I couldn't make you stay
Smiling through denial – my specialty I thought that was a good thing for a while You gave me all your secrets, were you testing me? How could I do anything but smile?
Re-enact your legendary tragedy And do to me what has been done to you Is that the only point to all this misery? Is there any reason I should cry?
Heal – it takes time And you gave me all you had I know in time, I will believe That I loved you Did you love me? Did you love me?
Heal – it takes time And you gave me all you had I know in time, I will believe That I loved you You loved me You loved me.

I realize that the song is technically good.
But I'm not sure that I like it.

Alkaline Trio - You're Dead |

And I now have nothing But your heartbeat in my head And a photograph of my traveling friend And I became nothing when I found out you were dead When I found out I'd never see you again

I figured I'd leave all of you another mix before I leave.
Oli's mini mix of DOOM. Volume 2*
*No animals were harmed in the creation of this mix.
And I think it should unzip as a folder this time instead of individual files, which should make it easier to upload into your player of choice. I also included the track number in the file info so it should be all good this time (if uploaded into iTunes. I don't mess with any other players).

I'm bored with my music. Recommend me new, good stuff. Or old, good stuff that I don't listen to.
Please?

I hope I did because it was good. Oh so good.

"Father Lucifer" by Tori Amos is one of my favorite songs, ever.
Ani Difranco is playing the Variety Playhouse April 26th and I wanna go hella bad. Variety is a really small venue for someone as famous as Ani, though, and I'm not sure if I'll have the money to get tickets before they sell out. Bummer.
So.. AFI.. December Underground? June 6th? Hell yeahs.
Oh, and apparently I am going to see Ani because Charlie just bought me a ticket. Fuckin SWEET.

All right, these guys sounds like The Bravery, only better. Fun, dancey, and nothing too deep.

The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex Official Site Myspace
All right, so Jimmy's album came out a while ago and sadly, it was passed over by many.. including me. But after giving this album another listen, I realized how good it actually is. Drummers rarely get the credit they deserve. I don't see The Complex making another album anytime soon, though, as Jimmy is going to be busy with The Smashing Pumpkins reunion (I have faith, okay?). So anyway, The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex = good. Reminiscent of earlier alternative with a lot of jazz elements thrown in. Check them out.
(Billy Corgan is featured on the album, but you'd be better to avoid those tracks).
